What it does
The two-profile bench covers a single smooth transition, but a bench that changes shape more deliberately along its length needs a third profile to control it. This Grasshopper definition (originally named ComfyNES 3S1R) lofts a contoured bench body from three section profiles along a single rail, then slices it into slats and threads steel rods through them, the same core mechanism as the Two-Profile version plus a middle profile for finer control. Slat count, slat thickness, rod radius, and colours are all inputs, with the same flip controls for curves and orientation plane. Swap in a middle profile and you shape the bench's silhouette along its length instead of settling for one smooth curve, all without remodeling from scratch.

How it works

Open the .gh in Rhino 8 alongside your reference rail and three section curves.

Flip the curve or orientation-plane toggles if the geometry comes in backwards.
