What it does
Studying a glazed tower option usually means modeling the mullion grid by hand across every face before you can judge the proportions. Curtain-Wall Tower Generator (originally named G+U Building Structure Generator) takes a tower massing and wraps it in a curtain-wall grid of vertical mullions, horizontal transoms, and glazing panels, with the mullion and glass geometry output separately. Feed it a massing, set the vertical and horizontal grid spacing on sliders, and the definition stacks the floors and lays the grid across the faces on its own. You compare spacing options on a live model in minutes, then bake the mullion and glass geometry for design and visualisation. It's set up for prismatic massings, and fabrication detailing and tolerances stay a separate step on your side.
What is included
- Curtain-wall grid of mullions and transoms across the massing
- Glazing panels generated per grid cell
- Controls for vertical and horizontal grid spacing
- Floor stacking from the input massing
- Output separated for mullions and glass, ready to bake
- Sample .3dm and usage notes
How it works
- 01
Open the .gh in Rhino 8 with your tower massing referenced in.
- 02
Set vertical and horizontal grid spacing on the sliders.
- 03
Let the definition stack floors and lay the grid across the massing faces.
- 04
Bake the separated mullion and glass geometry once the spacing reads right.
Parameters
The sliders and inputs the tool exposes.
Questions about this product
Does it work on any tower shape?
It is set up for prismatic tower massings where a grid maps cleanly to the faces. Highly curved or twisting forms may need the grid logic adjusted.
Is the facade fabrication-ready?
It produces the mullion and glazing geometry for design and visualisation. Fabrication detailing and tolerances stay your responsibility.
