What it does

A relief facade built from an arrangement of modular cubes sounds simple until you're pushing dozens of them out by hand to get the depth pattern right. Cubist Facade Generator Pro turns a facade into a relief of boxes at varying depths, reading a base grid and driving each box's extrusion from a pattern and seed. Set the module size and depth range on sliders, then adjust the pattern and seed until the relief reads the way you want, all inside native Grasshopper with no plugins to install. Instead of manually pushing and pulling boxes to test a facade pattern, you dial through variations in minutes and bake the box breps once one is worth detailing further.

What is included

  • Grid-based box layout across a facade
  • Per-box extrusion depth driven by pattern and seed
  • Controls for module size and depth range
  • Output as box breps ready to bake
  • Usage notes
  • Runs on native Grasshopper, no plugins

FAQ

Questions about this product

Is this the same as the box massing tool?

No. This one builds a relief facade on a wall plane, where box depth carries the pattern. The massing tool builds a full three-dimensional form from a grid of boxes.

Do I need any plugins?

No. It runs on native Grasshopper 1 in Rhino 8.
